Now
A snapshot of what has my attention. Borrowed from Derek Sivers' /now page idea.
- Leading
- Cloud reliability and the team that runs it. Lately I keep circling the same question: where the ownership boundary belongs when the org chart and the architecture disagree. A reorg is systems design with people in the boxes.
- Building
- An SRE investigation agent assembled from small, single-purpose skills. It runs the resolve-and-collect grind so a human starts at the judgment instead of the triage. Plus this site, and a private engine that mines my own work into a graph and hands back the things I apparently have strong opinions about. Slightly cursed, very useful.
- Writing
- A run of essays on where autonomous agents have to stop: everything reversible up to the one-way door, then a deliberate human keyword. Org design and solo shipping in the mix too.
- Using
- AI coding agents for most of what I build now. Less autocomplete, more a tireless collaborator I keep honest with harnesses: a review pass tuned to catch the bug it would have missed, and a read-only door instead of a cleverer prompt.
